CAVING PIONEERS BOLDLY GO WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE..***EXCLUSIVE***….CRETE, GREECE: Katie Dent lowers Ben Morley in the main 150m deep entrance shaft to ‘ColoSuss’…..Going where no man has ever gone before these amazing pictures show a group of university cavers exploring a new cave on a truly gigantic scale…..They are the first humans ever to plunge into the depths of the awe-inspiring network in the Mavri Laki region of the White Mountains on the Greek island of Crete…..Expedition Leader Rob Eavis and his team pioneered the new venture after they found caves in the area were unexplored…..In 2005 they began mapping out their journey into the unknown and after two expeditions, by 2008 they had uncovered staggering 350 individual caves…..The huge volume of crevices, chambers and holes in the ground led them to believe there must be a master chamber somewhere underneath.
